Etwas verspätete Meldung, da die Ausserdienststellung anscheinend schon am 24. November stattgefunden hat:
After 36 years of good and faithful service, the last DC-8 of the French air force left 3/60 " Estérel " transport squad of Creil on 24th November. On the 110 air base of Creil, Air Vice Marshal Klein, in command of the Projection Aerial Force presided over the official withdrawal ceremony of the plane.
The DC-8 took off for the last time from Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport and landed on Creil air base after a touch-and-go in Evreux. After the ceremony, the DC-8 got to 601 air force warehouse, which gathers all the aircraft the air force withdrew from service together.
The six DC-8 used by 3/60 " Estérel " squad have a total of 238 434 hours of flight. Based at Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport, they have carried out long distance transport missions for the President of the Republic and operated between metropolitan France and French Polynesia for the Nuclear Experimentation Center Directorate. 3/60 squad's first DC-8 was officially taken into account on 1st may, 1968.

Zum Abschied ein Bild der letzten French Air Force DC-8, die ich persönlich am EAP fotografieren konnte (F-RAFG am 10.6.04):
